Kimberley McGee-Jackson is the owner of Songbird Music Studio established in 2002 and has been actively teaching in Collingwood since 2011.  Kimberley is teaching on-line only during the pandemic.

Kimberley's music career began at the age of 3 where she performed with her brother and sisters at local festivals, fairs, churches and various community events.  Kimberley began her formal music education with piano lessons at the age of seven and vocal lessons in her late teens.  Kimberley pursued her passion for music studying at the University of Windsor and Graduating in 1998 from the University of Western Ontario's Vocal Performance Program.

After graduation, Kimberley's professional singing career began with Opera In Concert under the Direction of the Robert Cooper.  Kimberley has performed with O.I.C. for three years and some highlights include performing at the St. Lawrence Centre for the Performing Arts in Toronto, The Ford Centre for the Performing Arts in North York and Kitchener's Centre in the Square.  As a soloist,  Kimberley has performed at conferences, festivals, churches and many special events across Canada.  Kimberley has recorded two Gospel CD's one of which was recorded specifically for the grief and bereavement profession to bring comfort and healing.

Kimberley started teaching piano and voice lessons while still in High School. She resumed teaching lessons from her home studio with the arrival of her children.  Kimberley teaches a wide variety of levels and genres in both voice and piano and is a certified teacher with the Royal Conservatory of Music in Toronto. 

Kimberley believes in making lessons fun and helping each student meet their own personal goals and potential.  Several students Kimberley's have gone on to pursue music at the college and university level, while some have pursued stage and acting careers.  Kimberley is very proud of her students! 

In 2018 Kimberley founded the Songbird Children's Choir for kids 8-18 years of age with the assistance of fellow GTMTA members Keiko Yoden-Kuepfer as accompanist and Velma Cook as Mentor.  The choir performed 2 full concerts for Christmas and Spring and visited local retirement homes to spread holiday cheer in 2019.  The Songbird Children's Choir also won gold at the Grey County Kiwanis Festival in 2019 and performed at the GTMTA's Canada Music Week concert and the GTMTA Master Class.  This choir is currently on hold.
