Don is a professional drummer who has performed in a wide variety of ensembles and orchestras spanning three decades.  He is known for his meticulous time-keeping skills and mastery of many musical genres and styles including rock, jazz, country, and musical-theatre. Don has been teaching private drum lessons dating back to high school and has been an active member of the Georgian Triangle Music Teachers’ Association (GTMTA) since 2004 and currently is the president.

Don’s love of playing drums started at age of eleven when he studied privately with Associate Professor Bob Hughes of the University of Western Ontario. While attending Catholic Central High School in London, Ontario, Don participated fully in the high school concert band, orchestra and jazz band program.  Don augmented his studies in percussion by studying contemporary jazz theory and classical music theory at the Royal Conservatory of Music. Don attended Music Industry Arts - Recorded Music Production at Fanshawe College in London Ontario and studied privately with Steve Mancuso from Humber College.

Don brings a lot of experience and enthusiasm to his teaching and loves to share the joy of music with his students.
